Clive
Powell is the real name of Georgie Fame, and he is a former pupil of the school.
He left the school in 1955 and returned a year later to perform for his old
schoolmates in a concert. I am reliably informed of this by an ex pupil from
that era - unless you know different !
FRANKIE PARR
Frankie Parr played Rugby for Wigan and Britain in the 1960's - can someone
confirm this? - does someone have a picture?

Colin Tyrer played rugby for Leigh, Wigan and Great Britain. - yet again,
as above - can someone give pics and confirm etc ?
DAVID ECKERSLEY
played for Leigh and GB at Rugby League
Dave scored a try in the only successful trip that Leigh made to Wembley in
1971 when they beat Leeds. (sent in by Jack Cunliffe)
